International Students
Students who are interested in attending Greystone College must have completed (graduated from) their final year of general schooling – Grade 12.
International students must demonstrate a high intermediate level of English by completing our on-line assessment test and an arranged speaking interview. The interview may be done by phone. The assessment test is not required if students present test scores of at least TOEFL 535, iBT 70, or IELTS 5.5 or if students have achieved Intermediate Level 4 at International Language Schools of Canada.
* Students applying for TESOL – TESL Canada must submit an official test score. Please see Language Requirement for International Students for the required score details.
Canadians and Immigrants
Students who are interested in attending Greystone College must be secondary school graduates or have mature student status.
Students enrolling in TESOL programs recognized by TESL Canada need to have a university degree if they wish to apply for TESL Canada certification upon successful completion of the program.
Note
If an applicant fails to meet the minimum requirements, they cannot be waived by either the institution or the student.

Policy
To be admitted to any Greystone College program, prospective students must meet specific requirements regarding age, prior education, English level, and demonstrated proficiency in the basic skills required for college level work. If the prospective student fails to meet the minimum admission requirements, neither the institution nor the student can waive the requirements.
Each applicant must be a high school graduate or have a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or have mature student status. All applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency.
Prospective students requesting credit for prior post-secondary education must submit transcripts (in English) before registration.
English requirements per program:
TESOL Diploma (360 hours), TESOL Certificate (130 hours)
- Advanced (equivalent to Advanced 1 at ILSC) with on line written test and arranged speaking interview, The online written test is exempt if ILSC Intermediate 4 is completed or IELTS 6.5 or iBT 80, with 20 in each area is presented.
International Business Management (360 hours), International Business and Trade (120 hours), Business Management (120 hours), Business Communications (120 hours)
- Advanced (equivalent to Advanced 1 at ILSC) with on line written test and arranged speaking interview, The online written test is exempt if ILSC Intermediate 4 is completed or IELTS 6.5 or iBT 75 is presented.
Tourism & Hospitality Management (all programs and courses included)
- High Intermediate (equivalent to High Intermediate 4 at ILSC) with on line written test and arranged speaking interview, The online written test is exempt if ILSC Intermediate 3 is completed or IELTS 5.5, or iBT 70 is presented.
TESOL TKT (120 hours)
- High Intermediate (equivalent to High Intermediate 3 at ILSC) with on line written test and arranged speaking interview, The online written test is exempt if ILSC Intermediate 3 is completed or IELTS 5.5,or iBT 55 is presented.
Procedure
- The institution's Student Services Manager refers all inquiries to the Marketer or Director.
- The Marketer or Director meets with the prospective student to discuss the program of interest. If the prospective student is undecided about a program of study, the Marketer or Director gives the prospective student information about a number of programs so that the he/she can make a decision.
- Once the prospective student has decided on a program of study, the Marketer or Student Services Manager reviews the admission criteria for the program with the prospective student to ensure that he/she meets all of the criteria.
- The prospective student submits the application form.
- A language assessment test and interview with the Director are set up for international students if necessary.
- The Student Services Manager obtains evidence (e.g. transcript, proof of age, etc.) from the prospective student that he/she meets all of the program's admission criteria and places the evidence in the student file.
- The Director meets with the prospective student to discuss the student's educational goals and commitment to completing the program of study.
- After receiving evidence that the prospective student meets all of the admission criteria, the Student Services Manager prepares a Letter of Acceptance and a Student Enrolment Contract. Financial arrangements for payment of tuition and other fees are made.
- Students attend orientation on the first day of the session. The Director reviews the policies that will affect the student during his/her completion of the program of study.
- A copy of the signed contract, along with a copy of student policies is given the student.
