Program Description
Our teacher training program provides trainees with the skills and knowledge to become successful as EFL teachers. It is
designed to help both prospective and experienced teachers.
This program
includes preparation for the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) which contains all essential elements of teaching English. Students will also develop their own teaching portfolio to begin their journey of teaching excellence.
Program Overview
Module A: Methodology for Teaching Speaking, Listening, and Pronunciation, Classroom Management, Linguistics, Teacher Discourse, Approaches, Intercultural Awareness, *Practicum
Module B: Methodology for Teaching Grammar, Reading, and Writing, Classroom Management, Teacher Discourse, Approaches, Intercultural Awareness, *Practicum
Module C: Methodology for Teaching Children, Vocabulary, and Integrated Skills, Classroom Management, Teacher Discourse, Curriculum Development, Course and Unit Planning, Assessment, Testing and Evaluation, *Practicum
Each module is four weeks in duration. Curriculum is subject to change. TKT
Preparation Component will be offered during the program.
Practicum
To develop confidence, skills, and tools to begin their teaching career, our
teachers-in-training will first observe real classes, develop lesson plans and
teach to their peers, assist a mentor teacher in an on-going class,
and finally teach on their own to real students. Feedback will be
given by a sponsor teacher.
Program Length
12 weeks (27 hours per week)
Class hours:
Monday to Thursday: 9am to 4pm (with 1 hour lunch)
Fridays: 9am to 12noon.

What is TKT?

TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) is a new test about teaching English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teachers' confidence and enhance job prospects by focusing on the core teaching knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners, anywhere in the world.
