Program Description
The objective of this course is to prepare students for college level programs,
particularly TESOL (Cambridge TKT). The focus is on increasing fluency in
speaking and reading, building vocabulary and using resources effectively.
Program Overview
Speaking and Presentation Skills:
- Classroom language
- Practice with giving instructions
- Presentation skills
- Discussion techniques
- Art of making questions
Reading Skills:
- Reading tips and techniques
- Timed reading
- Speed reading techniques
- Processing information from reading
TESOL Vocabulary:
- TESOL terminology
- Techniques for remembering vocabulary
- Vocabulary in context
Using Resources:
- Distinguishing categories and types of resources
- Recognizing level appropriate resources
- Photocopying essentials
- Using OHP, flip charts and the whiteboard
Entry Requirements
International students must demonstrate a high intermediate level of English
with our online written test and arranged speaking interview or have completed at least one session of ILSC
at Intermediate 4 Level.
Note: The online written test is exempt if TOEFL 530, iBT 68, IELTS
5.5 is presented. The online written test and interview are exempt if
students who complete ILSC’s TESOL TYL Diploma program began at
ILSC Intermediate 3 level.

4 weeks (30 hours per week)

Monday to Friday: 9am to 4pm (with 1 hour lunch)
